The Loves of My Life

My Three Girls_sm.jpg

There they are... the three women in my life these days. Of course, there's also my mother, my mother-in-law, my sister and my sister-in-law, but these are the three that I see and interact with every day. They are the loves of my life.

Lori and I went to Milwaukee on Friday for a seminar she had to attend. It was the first time we've left the babies with someone else for more than a couple of hours. And you know what? I missed them. I found myself, later in the day, looking at their pictures on my digital camera. By Friday evening, I was ready to get back to them. It was really odd being away from them. I had actually wished we had brought them with us.

So many people have offered to watch them for us while we get away for a little while. It's almost like they are saying that we will need to get away. That hasn't really happened yet. They are good babies. Really good. They haven't been collicky or anything like that yet. The only time they are in a bad mood is when they need something... a bottle, sleep, diaper changed, etc. Once their need is taken care of, they are happy babies again. I just want to take them with me everywhere and show them off. That's not always practical, but that's how I feel.

15 Weeks and Counting

PICT0748Twins_sm.jpgPICT0732Grace_sm.jpgPICT0798Lillie_sm.jpg

The twins are now 15 weeks old. Time is really flying by. It's hard to believe that they are that old already. It's been three weeks since Lori went back to work. I'm getting pretty good at this fathering stuff.

But just when I started to get comfortable, the twins started showing their personalities. Lillie is pretty laid back and quiet. Gracie lets you know when something is wrong, like when she's hungry. When she's hungry, well, she's hungry NOW! You better get that bottle ready fast, or Gracie will let you know about it.

While Lillie is the older one, Gracie is the bigger one. Gracie out-weighs Lillie, and out-eats Lillie on a daily basis. They are definitely not identical twins. Some people say that it's getting harder to tell them apart. I think that it's getting easier to see the differences. That's good, because when they were first born, I didn't know how I was going to keep them straight.
